Deer Valley SAGE classes support identified gifted students' unique, and individual educational needs. As a gifted teacher, I strive to support my students in their approach to the learning experience, encouraging their natural curiosity and providing opportunities for inquiry- based discussions. Gifted students require a modified instructional program that is aligned with the National Gifted Program Standards.
In my classroom, I strive to provide an expanded curriculum; a needs-based flexibility in pacing; a variety of opportunities for creative problem solving and the development of higher level thinking skills.
Currently, one of the hallmarks of the gifted program at Bellair is that the students are given time for interaction with other gifted students.
